This piece was written in 2007 during my studies with Bright Sheng at the University of Michigan. It's a commentary on Baroque idioms (which is most obvious in the first of the three sections) and was premiered by Tom Carter and Christia Bieda in February 2008. It was also performed at Ball State University's New Music Festival in 2010. This piece is best for graduate or talented undergraduate violists. For both of the performances the violists preferred to read from the full score, but if you would like individual parts, they are available upon request with the purchase of the full score, so please contact me if that interests you!
