Summer 2017 Updates

June 2017 - My review of R. Ryan Endris's Music Theory for Beginners book is now up on the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy's website! Check it out here!

May 2017 - If you haven't checked out my recordings in a little while, I've recently posted several selections from my busy semester of recital performances and recordings at IU. Check them out on my YouTube channel! In addition, Patty Lazzara and Allison Franzetti's beautiful performance of my Minuet in A can be heard on YouTube here. Many thanks to them and to Steve Markoff for organizing the event!

I'm also accepting new piano, music theory, composition, and vocal coaching students for my Bloomington, Indiana studio. Summer is the best time to start lessons, and I can work with students up to 4 times per week, but spots will fill up quickly! Contact me ASAP to get started. Potential collaborative partners seeking to make accompanist arrangements for the 2017-2018 academic year are also welcome to contact me. It's never too early to make sure you have your pianist secured for the school year!

In theory news, you may have heard that I am working with Liberty Park Music as their Principal Music Theory Teacher. Though LPM is a subscription-only space, they have partnered up with Udemy.com to offer my Music Theory 1 course (Music Literacy, a complete course in how to read music notation) for free to anyone who wishes to enroll! Click here to access the course. (This may be of particular use to incoming college music majors whose notation skills are not where they need to be or for those who need to have a strong command of notation before they enroll in high school AP Music Theory!)

As always, to keep up on my various musical pursuits in real time, go ahead and Like my Facebook page!
