2013 News and Performances

b>10/3/2013 - Nicole's Divertimento for string quartet was premiered by the International String Quartet of Yucatan to an enthusiastic reception in Merida, Mexico. The run-through and performance can be viewed on Youtube here.

Fall 2013 - Nicole will be performing with violinist Amy Schlicher as a newly-formed Duo del Mare aboard the MS Maasdam cruise liner (Holland America) for three months between September 28 and January 3, 2014.

6/14/2013 - Nicole has begun composing a series of elementary-level pedagogical piano pieces in uncommon key signatures. While these were written with adult beginners in mind, they are also well-suited to young pianists' hands (and never ask for more than a 6th span in each hand). Selections may be downloaded at GoodTeachingMusic.com.

Summer 2013 - Several of Nicole's early compositions will be performed by music students in Kenya this year through a pedagogical project spearheaded by IU opera coach Kimberly Carballo.

5/2/13 - Nicole will be accompanying a benefit concert of IU graduate vocal majors, among them famed "Accidental Tenor" Andy Lunsford, featuring a selection of operatic arias by Mozart, Verdi, and Puccini. (7 PM, Bloomington North High School)

4/20/2013 - Nicole will be joining French hornist Chelsey Hamm in a performance of Gunther Schuller's Nocturne at Indiana University (2PM, Sweeney Hall).

3/2013 - Nicole's conference paper season is getting off to a busy start, with her paper, "Form and Deformation in Two Late-Romantic Italian Piano Concerti," slated to be heard at five conferences around the country! An extended version of the paper will also be published online at MOSAIC: Journal of Music Research in August.

1/2013 - Nicole is working on a new composition project, Divertimento, for the International String Quartet of Yucatan. It is scheduled to be performed during the 2013-14 season.
