Summer 2024 News
July 2024 - In the absolute chaos of my late spring gig season, I didn't see that my third blog post for Tonebase, on the evolving meaning of "rubato" in the piano repertoire, has been published! Check it out here: https://www.tonebase.co/piano-blog-posts/how-to-play-rubato-on-the-piano
I'm also pleased to announce that my fourth Tonebase article will be in the works soon. It will discuss the various ways to reduce and play orchestral reductions at the piano, something I confront every day as a collaborative pianist. I'm really looking forward to it!
7/3/2024 - My Nocturne in G# minor will be featured in a private concert given by the students of noted concert pianist Murray McLachlan at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester, England. While the live performance is invitation-only, recordings should be available at a later date.
6/21 and 6/22/2024 - I will be joining New Mexico's Camerata del Sol as their guest continuo keyboardist for their "Baroque on the Border" concerts on June 21 and 22, which will take place at New Mexico State University and the Loretto Academy Chapel in El Paso, respectively. The program will include the music of Corelli, Albinoni, de la Guerre, Leonarda, Brescianello, and Falconieri. (Edit: The livestreamed Friday concert given at NMSU is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tWfgbtr-CM )
6/1 and 6/2/2024 - I'll be collaborating with numerous flute and other students at the Tennessee Music Teachers' Association State Finals, hosted at Vanderbilt this year, so if this affects your lesson slot we will find a make-up.
Summer 2024 - I'm thrilled to be collaborating with a "dream team" of composers Lisa Neher, Joel Balzun, and Kirsten C. Kunkle and mezzo-soprano Molly Noori on the "My Black Swan Songs" commission project, which will commission a cycle of works surrounding voice and disability. More information and dates TBD.
