Beschreibung
This piece was written in 2006 at the very beginning of my studies with Bright Sheng and Theresa Martin at Michigan. I had long since been interested in writing for the oboe, since a couple good friends of mine were in Nancy Ambrose King's oboe studio. This etude has been transcribed for clarinet and bassoon as well, and I'll make versions of those available online if there is interest. This piece would be ideal for an advanced high school player or undergraduate interested in exploring the oboe's lyric potential (and not interested in scrambling to find an accompanist).
