Notes on the composition:
A sarabande is a stately triple-meter dance, usually at a slow tempo, that originated in Spain. It is distinguished from other triple-meter dance styles by its emphasis on the second beat within each measure. In this piece, the left hand should be completely steady (avoiding any rushing), with the melody projected and lyrically phrased over it.
