Beschreibung
This attractive piece is perfect for the first day of piano lessons with beginners of all ages: they'll immediately start using finger 3 (which promotes good alignment and balance) and using both hands (which activates the area of the brain's motor cortex that controls hands-together motion). When combined with the teacher duet part, the result is a rich musical experience reminiscent of French folk music, as heard in arrangements by Ravel, Canteloube, and Bizet. Additionally, the piece is in 3/4, a meter to which new pianists with mainly pop-music listening backgrounds will need more exposure in order to feel comfortable.
The audio preview depicts what the piece will sound like if played at two separate instruments; if the student and teacher are at the same instrument, the student will play 2 octaves higher.
This piece is compatible with Irina Gorin's "Tales of a Musical Journey" method series.
