Description
This Baroque-inspired (but somewhat more Romantic) keyboard fugue was composed in 2006 as the final project for my second-semester counterpoint class. Interestingly, it has since been performed more often than just about anything else I have ever written for keyboard! It is best suited to a performer already very comfortable projecting polyphonic textures (it is a rectus-inversus fugue, meaning you'll find several instances of inverted subjects and countersubjects), so you will probably want several of Bach's Preludes and Fugues under your belt already. No dynamics are marked in the score, given that it is meant for any keyboard instrument, but feel free to use my live performance (in the sound file) as inspiration or experiment on your own.
