A fughetta is a small fugue, or a contrapuntal work (most popular in the Baroque era) with 2 or more independent voices that each present, and then develop, a single short melodic idea. That idea (called the subject) should always be emphasized whenever it appears—and occasionally, you might even find two voices stating it at the same time.

* Navigating 3-voice polyphonic textures
* Splitting a single voice between 2 hands (maximum required stretch M6)
* Becoming familiar with fugue technique and terminology
* Reading in slightly flat keys
