Description
Text by Alexander L. Posey (1873-1908)
In pensive mood she stood,
In garments white like snow,
Besides the darksome wood,
Amid the twilight glow;
As if she held communion there
With spirits in the fading air.
And loath to break the spell –
The sweet enchantment that
She seemed to love so well -
I backward stept; thereat,
The beauteous vision fled from me
In strange and silent mystery.

(Note that part of the piano part was slightly revised in 2015, so this will not reflect the revision. It's actually a bit easier in its revised version.)
The range extends from Bb3 to a brief F5.
I'm happy to create a custom transposition for you if D minor or the high key of F minor are not suitable for you.
