5/19/2023 - In probably the last event I can call a "spring event," I'll be guest-accompanying Allentown High School's choirs, coming all the way from New Jersey, at the Music in the Parks festival in Sandusky (better known as the home of Cedar Point). We'll also be participating in a masterclass/clinic at Case Western on Thursday, the 18th.
4/23/2023 - I'll have the pleasure of adjudicating the OMTA Buckeye Auditions for piano at the Aurora School of Music this year, which means Sunday afternoon students will be given a later slot or rescheduling options for that week.
4/19/2023 - I'll be stepping in last-minute to partner with violist Nik Stackpole on a duo recital at the United Methodist Church of Kent at 7:30pm. If livestreaming is available, I'll update with that info.
4/16/2023 - I'll be accompanying a multi-instrumental studio recital for the entire afternoon, so any lessons that overlap with this will be rescheduled for later in the evening or another day.
4/1/2023 - Not an April Fool's, just a happy announcement that several of my Venturing Beyond pieces were featured on the Piano Music She Wrote vlog run by Erica Sipes and Sandra Mogensen. Check out the feature here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQHzT9nCwNc
3/24/2023 - It was a blast appearing on Motif Music Studio's "Coffee with Composers" video feature, discussing Venturing Beyond, Vignettes, Opening Doors, my 22 Nocturnes for Chopin piece, and even my pet monarchs! Check it out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NwH3DY712s.
3/18/2023 - NFMC Recital Accompaniment
3/12/2023 - Violin Recital (students with conflicting slots may reschedule)
3/1/2023 - I'm excited to be joining the Nikhil Hogan Show, a podcast focusing on partimento, Italian solfeggio, and historical composition/improvisation more generally, as an interview guest for the second time. Topics and air date TBD!
2/24/2023 - A long-awaited Accessible Accompaniment is here: "Smanie implacabili" from Cosi fan tutte! This one features the brief recitative, "Ah, scostati!" with minor changes to benefit small hands and sight-reading audition situations. Grab yours here: https://ndipaolo.musicaneo.com/sheetmusic/sm-544269_ah_scostati_smanie_implacabili_dorabella_s_aria_from_cosi_fan_tutte_-_accessible.html
2/21/2023 - While this is not a "new" Accessible Accompaniment, I'm pleased to announce that my commissioned reduction of Ravel's "Fire Aria" is now in US public domain (well, it has been for a while and it just slipped my mind to check) and available for purchase! Stop by its dedicated page on my Accessible Accompaniments website to learn more and purchase yours: https://accessibleaccompaniments.weebly.com/ravel---fire-aria.html
2/9/2023 - My newest Accessible Accompaniment, for "Largo al factotum" from Il barbiere di Siviglia, is out now! This edition was specifically created to minimize fatigue at the piano and make the aria more playable during multiple run-throughs and long audition days. Grab yours here: https://ndipaolo.musicaneo.com/sheetmusic/sm-544060_largo_al_factotum_figaro_s_aria_from_il_barbiere_di_siviglia_-_accessible_accomp.html
2/2023 - I'm continuing my partnership with Tonebase as a blog contributor with an article on practice techniques this month. This is something I go over regularly with my often very busy adult piano students--and as a busy collaborative pianist myself--so I'm excited for this one!
(ETA: Article here: https://www.tonebase.co/piano-blog-posts/piano-practice )
1/13/2023 - I'm thrilled to announce that my Nocturne in G# minor was selected for EVC Music's upcoming anthology of pedagogical works by women composers inspired by Chopin's Nocturnes! The full list of selected works can be found here: https://www.evcmusic.com/call-to-women-composers-results/. The book launch should be happening sometime in June and will include a recital in England to showcase the anthology's chosen works. Since great Chopin-preparatory piano music is relatively hard to find, I'm excited to get my hands on this book and have more repertoire to offer my intermediate students, too--and EVC Music's publications are now distributed by Hal Leonard, so they'll be easy to acquire anywhere you and your students are.
1/7/2023 - Private Competition Accompaniment - since this competition involves fairly significant travel, I'll be in touch if your lesson or rehearsal slot is affected.
1/2023 - My church substitute performance schedule is beginning to take shape and I am almost fully booked for January, but I have scattered availability in February and March remaining.
1/2023 - I've added another online course to my college teaching load, which changes the distribution of my available slots for online private lessons. I'll be in touch privately if your slot was affected by this change.
